MCA student in Bengaluru with three applications deployed and running. Right now I am building Adusa, a networking platform for college students, where the interesting work has been the part that only shows up in production: an N+1 query in the feed, likes that had to feel instant on a slow connection, and pages that stay public without leaking anyone's email.

Adusa

A networking platform for college students. My own project.
  • The feed was firing 51 API requests where one was enough. I moved the liked state onto the server response and removed the N+1 query.
  • Likes update before the server answers, with a snapshot of the previous state and a rollback if the request fails.
  • An optionalAuth middleware lets the feed and profiles stay public while still personalising for a logged in user.
  • A DECISIONS.md in the repo records the tradeoffs I chose and the ones I rejected, including how one user can flood a chronological feed.

Real time chat

Built during my internship at Main Flow Services and Technologies.
  • One to one messaging over Socket.io, with the token checked during the handshake so an unauthenticated client never opens a socket.
  • Messages persisted in MongoDB, presence tracked on connect and disconnect.
